More than half of the Brazilian energy matrix originates from hydroelectric plants. It was in this segment that Intertechne began its journey and we are proud to contribute to the development of this segment that is so important for Brazil. Throughout our history, we have developed iconic projects, in Brazil and abroad, which are now part of our portfolio and have consolidated us as one of the main designers in Brazil and the world in this segment.
Our expertise is in Project Engineering and Management for: Dams, Hydroelectric Generation Plants and Energy Transmission Systems – transmission lines and substations, as well as Modernization of Hydroelectric Plants; Maintenance and Safety Plans for Hydroelectric Power Plants; and Basic Sanitation.
In this segment, the company has consolidated experience internationally, through an extensive and diversified history of services carried out in greenfield and brownfield services.
Our portfolio includes internationally renowned plants such as the largest 100% Brazilian hydroelectric plant, Belo Monte HPP with an installed capacity of 11,233 MW, Laúca HPP with 2,067 MW of installed capacity and one of the largest hydroelectric plants in Angola, Irapé HPP in Brazil, also known as Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek Plant, with 399 MW of installed capacity, which has the record height dam in Brazil. These are just a few examples of our vast experience in the segment.

In 2004 the Quality Management System received official recognition after an initial audit when the entire company was assessed for ISO 9001 STANDARD requirements.
The company has ISO 14001 certification since September 2009 which represents with the international environmental management standards.
In 2021, the OHSAS 18001 certification was updated to certification according to the ISO 45001 standard in the areas od health and safety.
