INTERTECHNE JOIMTS ONE OF THE LARGEST SOLAR PROJECTS IN SOUTH AMERICA

Janaúba solar complex, in Minas Gerais, will be built by Andrade Gutierrez, which was contracted by Elera Renováveis, a unit of the Canadian group Brookfield in Brazil, and in its first phase will have an 830 MW installed capacity. Intertechne is responsible for the UFV’s civil and electrical executive design. The project started in January and the solar plant is expected to start operating in early 2022.

According to Rafael Castilha, project manager at Intertechne, this undertaking will further strengthen Intertechne’s technical capacity in the area of renewable energies. ”It is an immense satisfaction to participate in a photovoltaic project of this magnitude, perhaps among the largest of its kind in South America. To help our client reduce operating costs and generate greater assertiveness in project processes, our teams are using the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology”, highlights Rafael.

For Carlos Infante, Business and Market Development Director, Janaúba solar complex project is another important step in the process of consolidating Intertechne in the solar energy segment. ”We are working on several fronts, as designers, integrators of energy solutions and investors in distributed generation projects. An example of this was the UFV Bandeirantes project in Paraná, where we operate through our subsidiary Sistechne, responsible for implementing the project and also as investors in the project. We are a group with more than 30 years of experience in consulting engineering and we are making rapid progress in our ability to develop cutting-edge solutions in renewable energy”, highlights Infante.
